who is sydney johnson?

I've always had a passion for journalism. Any opportunity I've received to write a breaking story or produce a news package has allowed me to become an experienced storyteller. Through my work, I've had the opportunity to work with PBS Newshour and attend the 2022 NBCUniversalxNABJ Multimedia Shortcourse at North Carolina A&T University.

Being a woman of color within this industry has taught me to have a head on my shoulders. As an aspiring multimedia journalist, I want to be a leader for my community and become a source for those who want an opportunity to share their stories and experiences.

This idea of making a global impact is shown in my personal life. I spent my college years serving on the exec board for the Alpha Omicron Pi Gamma Alpha chapter. I also served as President of GMU SPJ. I now am part of Cardiff University TV, located in Cardiff, Wales and We Are Black Journos.
